I do not recommend this practice. I thought the way they treat kids was normal for pediatric dentists until I had too many red flags and went elsewhere for my kids. Parents- it is not normal to “bear hug” your kids and hold them down while 2 hygienists shove toothbrushes in their mouths to keep their mouth open while they clean their teeth. There is zero effort on Dr. Shea’s part to establish rapport with your child- it’s all business and no care or compassion. I don’t know how this practice is still open. They tried to pressure me into having work done for one of my kids and I ran to another practice when they described their process for filling cavities in a 4 year old- strap them down and knock them out with laughing gas while the parent sits out in the waiting room. Absolutely not ok and would not trust this doctor with my kids unsupervised. I could go on but just know the way they treat your child for even a cleaning is not normal. Do not bring your kids here.

My son has sensory issues and has been so nervous to go to the dentist. Each and every person in the office made us feel welcomed and made his experience a great one! He left excited and is happy to go back. Thank you everyone 💓

Our two-year-old son had his very first dentist appointment with Dr. Shea and her team today and it was such a great experience! Everyone was so kind and patient, which was so comforting. They are very quick and efficient too, which made it evident that they have a lot of experience working with very young children! Would definitely recommend!

If a zero Star rating was possible that is what I would have selected. If you are considering Dr. Shea please do yourself a favor and run the other direction. We had been with Dr. Shea for a couple of years and her practice of treating children is borderline if not abusive. They do not let you back with your children, who are minors for any treatment. My 5 year old had a cleaning, got in the chair and sat with no problem, she got scared when they turned on the suction and their initial response was to push her back down and they encourage you to pin down your child. THIS IS NOT OK! When they did a filling on my 5 year old she was screaming in a way I have never heard and then the screaming suddenly stopped. I asked if she was finished and they said "no she fell asleep" What I am assuming happened is she passed out from all the screaming and them pinning her down. This is traumatizing for a child. Then my older daughter (9years) told me the last time she had a filling she started crying because the Novocain shot hurt and Dr. Shea covered her mouth and told her to stop crying, again completely unacceptable. I came in a week early by accident and everybody made accommodations to put us in a chair and get the kids done as quick as possible! I can’t thank everybody enough for the opportunity to be done the same day I came in! X-rays and cleanings!!! I seriously can’t stop taking these ladies here! Simply amazing and blown away with how happy and eagerly happy to help! I love this place and all the employees! I would recommend this dentist to anybody with children!
